There's more of these extension tags, some in Mojarra even have elaborate subtags, specifying all kinds of stuff that's subsequently... completely ignored. The entire design time thing obviously never took off in general, and obviously those extension tags never did anything at all for even the few tools that did exist for JSF visual editing.

+1 for removing it for sure.
