Wayne,
At board meetings Mike often uses the approach of asking if anyone
objects to unanimous consent. So I'll give everyone in the PMC a
week and then, in the absence of any -1s, I'll declare unanimous
consent. :-)

Ed

There are a great many things wrong with the portal. In this case,
however, it works as expected for me. Perhaps it was a
point-in-time problem. Are there any specific symptoms?
Deactivating an inactive committer is one thing, but removing and
replacing a project lead requires unanimous consent from the PMC
(i.e. a transparent discussion in the PMC mailing list) and
approval from the EMO(ED). This thread can serve as the start of
that conversation.

Ed,
We should expect team leads to be reasonably responsive and to
particpate in elections, so I think it's reasonable to
decomitterize him. I've CC'd the Modeling PMC. Does anyone
disagree?
I tried to use the portal to see if I can decommiterize him, but
the portal just hangs when I try to masquerade as the lead.
Wayne, is something wrong with the portal?

Hi
I sent a direct email to Sergey yesterday reminding him that
it was the last day of the election, but as with about three
quarters of recent QVTo queries he has been too busy with
other things. A few months ago he apologized for his lack of
attention and promised to have more time, but no change in
practice.
Recently he failed to comment on http://dev.eclipse.org/mhonarc/lists/mmt-dev/msg00133.html
where his historical Borland knowledge would have been useful.
His most recent comment on mmt-dev was Sept 3rd so he does
know about mmt-dev.
His last commit was in May for the Juno build for which he did
little more than the minimum to contrive a release.
Since, in the absence of (Borland) funding, his enthusiasm for
QVTo is limited, it does not now seem appropriate for him to
continue as a committer or project leader.
Conversely I (as Willink Transformations Ltd.) am personally
sponsoring Adolfo's EngD at York to get QVTo moving again (and
also another EngD for QVTd). I have stopped QVTo going
backwards by migrating to GIT, Buckminster and accommodating
ICU changes despite indicated funding not materializing.
Removing Sergey will reduce the project to just me as a
committer and so de facto project lead. Adolfo will increase
the strength to two. I have hopes that Christopher Gerking who
has submitted about 10 fixes for legacy bugs may also help,
particularly if Nicolas Rouquette's long promised mega-patch
ever materializes. If it does, some funding may be forced to
accompany it.
Sorry for leaving you with this seeming no-choice
decommitterization.
Regards
Ed Willink
