| The CBI has be quite usable for some time (I've been using elements
of it for two years or so). The big effort that is currently
underway is concerned with building the Eclipse Platform. This has
    some pretty unique challenges.
The CBI is basically a combination of Hudson, Maven, and Tycho. It's
independent of any specific VCS technology, so you can get started
right away. Experiences have been very positive with many people
(myself included [1]) getting a full build in place in about 20
    minutes.

There's lots of help on the Wiki [2] and CBI mailing list.

There's really no reason to wait for CBI; like I said: it's ready
    for most projects today.

      Hi Ed,
The plan way back when was that the
move to git went hand in hand with the move to the new LTS build.
      I am
not sure where the LTS build / CBI build is at, but I took a quick
      look
at the wiki and it looks like we are not quite there yet.

I will go ahead and move EMF Transaction,
EMF Validation, EMF Query, GMF Notation and GMF Runtime to git.

There will be no further builds on any
of these components until we get builds going.

I will assume we can borrow build tools
from the other Eclipse projects that have already moved to git if
      we have
to, but you know what happens with you assume things about Eclipse
      build
      tools.

 Cheers...
 Anthony

      CVS Wall of shame

 Wayne,

There are a lot of modeling projects.  Many are on the termination
      list
        :
 http://wiki.eclipse.org/Modeling/project_termination_review_2012
I'll review this CVS list when we're done with the terminations.

I do note that a significant number of these projects managed by
      IBM and
will need Anthony Hunter's and Paul Elder's attention.

 Anthony,

I believe you had concerns about keeping builds running after a
      git migration.
What should we expect from you and Paul in terms of migrating to
      git before the December deadline?

 Regards,
 Ed
