Another observation on this topic.

Activity in CVS and list is one way to encourage us (external contributors) to participate, it helps us spot ways to assist.

I'm not saying that there is not enough work done around here (this is Open Source, we'll all contribute as time allows), nor am I saying you should commit the debugger code (I've not looked at it yet, so no opinion).

What I am saying is that a committer should look at the one and only patch that has been put in the issue tracker and either reject/comment on it or apply it. [1]

It may not do much but it is an added feature and it would show some activity in the project, which may help encourage others (notice I am posting to the list because of the current discussion ;-)

Please remember, I'm not complaining, only taking the opportunity to highlight the patch again in case it is forgotten.
