Hi,

as soon as you are sure that certain changes will never make it into
the repository (for whatever reason: be it you can't spent more time
on it, you found better alternatives, ...) you should abandon these
changes. As you have experienced reviews can take a lot of time :-(
and consume a lot of time also for the reviewers. To avoid that
reviewers spend time on dead proposals it's a good idea to abandon
them. And the best thing: They don't get deleted. Gerrit will save the
review work and we can always bring them back to live.
