Re: [jgit-dev] using Gerrit Code Review was: exceptions when using https

I tried the link given here [1] and this worked for me, maybe you need to check
your proxy settings ?

Tried to pull down the commit hooks but all I got were 404s.

BTW, I used the suggested id, and pushed it already.

You may generate the changeId using the corresponding hook when committing
using native git or use the little green button in EGit's commit dialog to generate it.
This is described in the contributor guide
http://wiki.eclipse.org/EGit/Contributor_Guide#Commit_message_guidelines
and in more detail in the EGit User Guide
http://wiki.eclipse.org/EGit/User_Guide#Committing

Thanks, fetching a auto generated password was non-obvoius.

It is indicating that I need a change id. It is suggesting that I use the commit hash as the id. How would I know that prior to commit? What should be used as the change id.

    https://git.eclipse.org/r/Documentation/user-changeid.html has still confused me.

If you're pushing with https, then you have to use an auto generated password which is shown here:

    https://git.eclipse.org/r/#/settings/http-password
