Re: [jetty-users] start jetty with policy has errors

You seem new to this aspect of java, I want to make sure you know what
your getting yourself into here. Why do you think you have to use
this policy mode? It really is for the incredibly small niche of user
that needs to run in a secure mode. Traditional security measures
which don't involve this stuff is easily enough for most people.

1) because AllPermission basically bypasses all benefits of running in
secure mode
2) you have to understand the layout of the policy files, and more
importantly the classloaders, where are they getting their source and
what is the path of execution that any given bit of code would hit,
then you are able to start adjusting codebases
3) as long as your running the recent 7.4 releases the policy files
themselves basically explain what is what, 7.4.5 is the latest. past
that we have a page [1] which will explain loosely what is going on, I
think is up to date, the introduction contains the link to the java
documentation on all of this which you should intimately understand
before really trying to debug or get anything to work with policy
files.
