Re: [jdt-dev] [eclipse-dev] Automate check to warn about freeze on Gerrit

This actually a great start. You can get the freeze dates from https://www.eclipse.org/projects/project-plan.php?planurl=https://www.eclipse.org/eclipse/development/plans/eclipse_project_plan_4_19.xml#release_milestones also. The same gets updated in the calendar as well

Thank you for taking this up

Subject: [EXTERNAL] [eclipse-dev] Automate check to warn about freeze on Gerrit

Hi all,

I've started working on https://ci.eclipse.org/platform/job/Report-freeze-dates-to-Gerrit/ to automate a Gerrit review that would send a -1 in case of freeze.

It's currently still very experimental: it takes hardcoded freeze start dates and freeze durations, and it wasn't yet tried in action.

However, I'd like to get some feedback about it, mostly from the people who deal with the freeze dates. Do you think this could help? Do you think it's doable for PL to pre-fill the freeze dates in the job; or is it important to fetch the dates from somewhere else (where) ? Are all freeze of the same duration...?

Thanks in advance for your insights!
