Re: [jdt-dev] Buffer overflow

Hi Fabrice,
> directly assign the ticket before submitting it
This is not a good practice as the initial bug creation notification should be sent to all who have subscribed so that they can comment, vote, or decide on the priority/plan for that bug. This helps in keeping everyone aware of the changes that are going into the code stream, for which the bug creation with an explanation was made mandatory in the JDT projects.
The JDT co-leads plan to come up with a wiki with committer/contributor guidelines and best practices to clarify such cases.

Hi all,
Here is a tip to reduce this issue:
When you create a ticket in bugzilla and you exactly know who will do it and who will review it, directly assign the ticket before submitting it. It will only email the reporter and the assignee. And if you know who will work on it, usually it means you understand well the issue and it's not so bad if less person are notified.
(I guess most of you already do this)

Dear Team,
No panic, but ...
I know that several bugs and private questions are awaiting a response from me.
Unfortunately, I am at a point where I am no longer able to guarantee any time
to response. According to bugzilla emails, JDT has never before been so active
as it is currently. On the one hand this is really, really great, on the other
hand, the volume of communication is a bit overwhelming for s.o. who is not 24/7
at his JDT-desk to tick off every email the minute it arrives. Right now I have
75 unread bugzilla emails, each of which could be an urgent request for response.
