As for:

The usage of the tycho-buildtimestamp-jgit thing prevents doing a
tycho build when there are uncommitted changes

I raised a bug, https://github.com/eclipse/january/issues/166, because
it gets in the way. When the maven builds were only running on build
machines it made sense, but on dev machines it does not.
