Everyone doing the negotiations has my huge thank you. It can image the process is far from being easy.
I'd personally propose:
Get rid of javax* as soon as possible to untie the platform
Make sure everything is properly licensed, so the standard remains truly open and accessible for everyone.
Unite Microprofile and Jakarta EE. At least as a brand. If Microprofile is paving the way for Jakarta EE, make it Jakarta EE brand as well. Cooperation and communication is crucial.
Think about the users.
Users of Jakarta EE care little about internal politics. Most of them don't even care about how Jakarta EE process works, the very same way nobody from the real world out there really cared how JCP worked. They want to
know the possiblities and they want materials to learn from. Right now, the front page of Jakarta EE lacks the most important thing - end users don't know what Jakarta EE can do for them and how to achieve it. There is nothing useful for the end users, which are in fact the most important. The customers/users are always the most important thing. MicroProfile is better (
https://microprofile.io/) with their "See the code" button.
I'm really sorry to say that, but please go to
http://www.spring.io to see how it's done properly. Note the clear description of what it is, what can it do for me and how to do it. There is the "Guides" section as well. On Jakarta EE page, I can find a survey report and "Guiding Principles". Which is great and useful, but most visitors are not seeking that information. They want to get work done. I'm willing to help and document stuff, if required.
