Hi Emily:

Apologies for the delay in responding.  You are eligible to be considered as a candidate for the Committer elected position based on your Committer status. However, the Committer representative is an elected position held in an individual capacity and is separate from your current role as the designated alternate for a Strategic Member.

We can therefore include your nomination in the election. Should you be elected, you would need to step down as the Strategic Member’s alternate before taking the Committer representative seat. IBM could then designate another alternate.

I hope this clarifies the distinction, and we are happy to include your nomination on that basis.

Nomination Eligibility

For membership classes other than Committer Members, all individuals who are employed by an organization that is a member of that class in the working group may stand for election.The current members of the Jakarta EE Working Group can be viewed here.

Committer Members engaged in Jakarta EE projects may stand for election if employed by a corporate member or participating through an executed Individual Participation Agreement. If you are unsure of your eligibility, please reach out. More information about Committer Membership is available here.

• Sep 8 – 18: Nominations

• Sep 21: Candidates Announced

• Sep 22 – Oct 2: Voting

• Oct 6: Results Announced

Nominations

Eligible members may nominate candidates (including self-nominations) by replying to this mailing list. Please specify the candidate's target committee and include a brief bio. Nominees must confirm their willingness to stand.

Following the nomination period, ballots will be sent by email to eligible voters.  The election will use the Eclipse Foundation's Single Transferable Vote method.
