Tanja, and co,
I am in favor of having alternative
meeting times that accommodate members in different
time-zones. I wonder if once a month is enough for folks
in the far east.
Looking at the respective time-zones, I
wonder if we could even do better if we held the
"alternate" meeting fixed on China/Japan time-zones --
Looking at the
time-and-date meeting planner I'd be tempted to
suggest 8 PM China, 9 PM in Japan. This would be 7 AM EST,
1 PM CET -- until summer when US and Europe would move to
an hour later.
Both these adjusted times would probably
preclude Mountain or West Coast time zones in the US but
someone's in the dark, no matter when this is scheduled.
(Plus, Dmitry would continue to provide quorum support for
Oracle.)
Would this displace other member
organizations?
Just a thought.

Hello members of the Specification
Committee,
as we are having couple of members on
the committee who are struggling with the meeting time,
Kenji for years and Scott for a while now, I would like
to have the group consider alternating or even changing
the meeting times.
To start with we could alternate times
like this
-
keep the first meeting of the
month at the current time
and have the second meeting at 7am PD / 10 am ED /
11PM CT / midnight 12 am JT
Kenji, Scott,
please comment if this would even work
for you or you'd have other suggestions and then I would
welcome others to make suggestions as well.
Best Regards,
Tanja
