Re: [jakarta.ee-spec.committee] TCK results

In today's meeting it was suggested that the certification request could
just be a link to the TCK summary results page, which would contain all
the information.

I'm concerned that this leaves us with no permanent record of what was
certified; we would be relying on the project to maintain that permanent
record. Is everyone really ok with this?

Bill,

The Eclipse Foundation TCK License states:

The test results must be continuously available and the link must be live for at least as long as the Product is available in the marketplace.

So legally anyone claiming compatibility must maintain this record anyways. And anyone using the Jakarta EE logo must remain in compliance with the TCK license.

Not sure if that completely alleviates your concerns, but wanted to make sure that everyone understands that this legal obligation exists.

I think I'd rather duplicate the information than have it only be maintained
by the project. But it also seemed fine to me for the project to point back
to this permanent record of what was certified.

Following our process and getting all these different documents to be
consistent is a real pain. Every time I think I'm done I discover
something else that I missed.

Our TCK Process says:

Public TCK Results Summary

While certification is on your honor, the community MUST be able to see your test results summary. At a minimum a results summary MUST:

Be publicly visible with no password protection or sign-up

    Include a Summary Page containing:

All information in the above Certification Request

The Total number of tests run and passed. If you are running a platform TCK, this means reporting the tests run for each required TCK, which includes the platform TCK and some of the individual TCKs that are not integrated with the platform TCK.

So the Certification Request needs to include a URL to the TCK results.
And the TCK results needs to include all the information in the
Certification Request, including a link to itself.

Couldn't the TCK results just link back to the Certification Request?
Wouldn't that be better than duplicating the information?
