Acronyms

Communicated to Will Lyons the ask tofinalize and create acronym document, communicate it, and vote on it at SC and publish.

JESP v1.1 / EFSP v1.2

Wayne to initiate voting on EFSP 1.2

Wayne will update JESP and send around the changes for discussion

Ideas:

  • Shorten review period to 14 day.

  • Can we fail shorter than 14 days. Fail reviews fast.

  • Can the submitter withdraw from a review? Something is missing. Let me back up and try again (maybe an FAQ entry)

TCK Process Status - Scott Stark

      • TCK process - Scott Stark leading the effort

        • Review new TCK Process 1.0 Draft updates

        • TCK Process - status document

        • Completion of the TCK process date targeted for June 26, 2019

        • -1 vote as non-veto in conflict with the EDP? That would essentially require a unanimous vote.

        • Requirements for certifying implementation against the most recent TCK? Handled in JCP TCK license in past.

      • TCK Processes should be integrated into the operations document.

Specification Document Copyrights (Wayne)

Wayne provided an update. We are focusing our attention on the Jakarta EE Platform Full and Web Profile specification documents.

TCK deliverables -

Email from Bill Shannon

A TCK release will be in the form of a zip file that includes:

- the TCK itself

- the TCK Users Guide

- the exclude list

A change in the exclude list will result in the service release - add to TCK process guide (ACTION: Bill or Scott S.)

Time-box decisions to 72 hours

EFSP 1.2 walk through (Wayne)

  • Document: https://github.com/EclipseFdn/EFSP/blob/version_1_2/source/process.adoc

  • Diff: https://github.com/EclipseFdn/EFSP/compare/version_1_2

  • Project board: https://github.com/EclipseFdn/EFSP/projects/2

  • Kevin expressed concern that the new language regarding the default and minimum period of time for Specification Committee ballots is confusing: (paraphrasing) “the default is 14 days, but it must not be less than 7 days”. A new thread on the Specification Committee mailing list was created by Wayne to discuss.

  • Following approval of the EFSP 1.2, the Specification Committee will need to update the JESP. It was suggested that we consider reducing the period required for progress and release reviews from 30 to 14 days.

  • Bill expressed concern that the process for modifying the EFSP itself does not provide sufficient guidance regarding the voting period.
