Re: [jakarta.ee-community] Integrate the mail list with a message client
Hi,

If you click "Browse channels" you will see that there currently are 31 channels in the workspace. Among those channels for most specifications, some implementations, and various community channels.
It is a free subscription, so history is limited. I think it is primarily used to "ping" people and point them to a conversation on a mailing list or issue tracker. Or have short conversations to clear up something. But it varies.
Keep in mind that, as with most open-source projects, the mailing lists are considered the "source of truth". Other communication channels, such as slack, are there for convenience.

I just logged in the slack workspace for the first time and I see 3 channels, with a very limited description. I cannot see / search any history, free slack is probably used: 90 days of history only. 

If you search here in the newsgroup archives there was some discussion in the past about the usage / etiquette of slack. 

I'm a long time reader here, and I like the mailing list to look at now and then. But I understand the need to make items as this mailing list more visible. 

For what it is worth: I like the Quarkus Zulip Chat approach with the clear separation of user issues versus dev issues. No app needed, and useful search and full history.
Zulip can mirror mailing list traffic (I have not tested this).

If possible to integrate all jakarta mail lists to channels of  a message client, eg, zulip. Thus we get email messages from a message client directly, and also can reply in the client.

As I know, many developers, especially in China, are not interested in using email to communicate.
