Btw, those who only look at the surface e.g. the Jakarta.ee site may have mistakenly considered Arjan also to join the Steering Committee only recently, because in some place Ivar was still mentioned for a while ;-)

Best to look in the minutes of the committee there as well.

Adding some context to this for other's benefit just in case people mistakenly read it as "Martijn has been absent all year."

Alex was the LJC representative on the Specification Committee.  He indicated he could not attend in March and needed to step down.  There was some confusion on the rules about if the LJC could appoint an alternate to represent them as a Participant Member or there needed to be another election.  While that was being clarified there was no allowed LJC member.  Once it was clarified they could, Martijn was appointed as the LJC rep and began attending without delay.
