Hi Gregor,

GlassFish can now be considered more of a reference implementation than anything else, as it doesn't come with support from any vendor. If you like GlassFish, I'd recommend you to take a look at Payara (, which was originally derived from GlassFish 4, uses most of the same components and is very similar to administer. Payara claims to be compatible with Java EE 8 (although it's not certified) and they have plans to certify for Jakarta EE as soon as they can.
