Hi everyone.
We recently completed phase 1 of our website refresh project. We now have a clear idea of the new colour scheme and updated structure for the website. Thanks to all the members of our community who provided feedback!
The main activity for phase 2 is to build mockups and prototypes that will enable us to validate the new look and feel with you. Stay tuned for a new GitHub issue that will enable you to voice your opinion.
Phase 3, which will come shortly after, will be the actual implementation.
A big focus of the website refresh will be to add content relevant to non-technical users. The main task here will be to write use cases: articles (or white papers) describing how Eclipse IoT can be leveraged to solve specific problems in non-technical terms. Those use cases will be a highly visible addition to the Eclipse IoT website. I encourage each of you to think about what your organizations could contribute in that area.
Another important upcoming change to the website is that the projects section will provide more information about each individual project. By default, this information will be extracted from the Eclipse PMI. However, projects will be able to override the standard page provided if they choose to do so. In preparation for this change, if you are a project lead or committer, please revise the PMI entry for your project to ensure the information is accurate and up-to-date.
Best Regards,
