Re: [iot-sp] Running Eclipse Hawkbit on CF (IBM Bluemix and GE Predix)

Sam this is a good idea.

My understanding is that GE, via Steve Winkler, was going to stand-up a generic CF instance for us.  Steve, is this still the plan?

This is really cool!

I suggest that for a vendor-agnostic instance we ask Atos for space on their upstream/pure OSS Cloud Foundry service ("Atos Cloud Foundry").

Hi,

For those who didn’t realize, the Eclipse hawkBit project has a sandbox sever that runs on IBM Bluemix [1] and that people can use to learn more about hawkBit and to connect their own devices for quick tests. What’s more, last week I did go through the (easy) steps of deploying hawkBit [2] and its Device Simulator [3] on GE’s Predix.

I think that’s a great showcase of CloudFoundry as a PaaS, and is a great first step in getting more Eclipse IoT projects to leverage CF ;-)

In the past, we have discussed that we should have a vendor-agnostic instance of Cloud Foundry running on e.g Amazon. Now would probably be a good time to try make this happen!
