Thank you very much for the great feedback and quick response!
 
After some experimentation, I have chosen to emphasize in bold the exact phrases Vlad suggested. (Thanks Vlad!!!)
 
I don't know if perfection is ever attainable, but I think it looks much better now.

IMHO, the italics don't work very well with the font (it's too thin)... 

Suggestion: choose a couple of important things to emphasize and use bold text. If I were to choose, I would probably do that for "reduces programming effort, fosters software reuse and provides opportunities for interoperability" , "common meta-level API", "no restrictions" and "generic IDE components". Obviously, this is very much a matter of personal taste.

I think that it is a really nice idea to introduce the headlines. I'll use your contribution as basis for re-writing the project description, and let you know when I'm done, so you can take a look at the result, and perhaps make further suggestions. Thank you very much for contributing!
