Hi Michael, all,
I just noticed that the current build does not build a p2
repository/update-site for GMF-Tooling. However, this is a
requirement for the release. How should we proceed?
We should decide of an URL for the new release repository, and
modify the gmf-tooling page on the site to show this URL. Does
http://download.eclipse.org/modeling/gmp/gmf-tooling/release/repository
look good?

Hello,
I have built the RC2, available at http://modeling.eclipse.org/modeling/gmp/gmf-tooling/downloads/drops/2.4.0/S201106290629/,
which has fixed both #339995 and the #349941 that prevented us
from releasing. To my understanding, the actual state has no
major problems and we should start to prepare for release review
considering this build as a candidate.
Regards,
Michael

Hi all,
I think GMF-Tooling should fix bug 339995
before shipping 2.4.
Seems to be blocking for Papyrus to generate their
diagram.

Hi Michael,
That's great! Unfortunately I don't have a clue
for the failing tests...
I noticed that there are still some
notifications on the gmf-releng mailing list
about a failing build (not because of tests, but
because of ant issues). I imagine this one is
started by a cron and is not well configured. Am
I right? Does anyone know how to remove this
cron task or fix it?

Hello
I have just built the S201106061901,
available for promotion at http://modeling.eclipse.org/modeling/gmp/gmf-tooling/downloads/drops/2.4.0/S201106061901/.
There still are 7 strange test failures,
covered by bugzilla #348484.
I have at least checked that the the tested
code is generated correctly and same tests
are not failing on local runs, so we may
reasonably guess that the problems are in
the checking code, not in the code being
tested.

Hello,
This particular Modeling build is
failing due to the misconfiguration.
I will try to fix the problem with
it.
Hi all,
Although GMF-Tooling
missed Indigo, I think we
have to provide a release
as soon as possible after
Indigo, to deliver a
version of GMF-Tooling
which is compliant with
the version of GMF-Runtime
shipped with Indigo. The
ideal would be that
GMF-Tooling releases the
same day as Indigo.
The good thing is that
there is no
critical/blocking bug
remaining.
The bad thing is that we
must be able to produce a
repository to deliver GMF
Tooling, and it is not yet
the case: current Modeling
builder fails ( http://modeling.eclipse.org/modeling/gmp/build/log-viewer.php?project=gmf-tooling&build=2.4.0/I201106020015/
), and Tycho build is
still missing the
documentation bundles ( https://hudson.eclipse.org/hudson/job/tycho-gmp.gmf.tooling/
).
I'd really love to see
GMF-Tooling built with
Tycho for this release,
but I think it is a bit
early. Such a move
probably requires some
approval in order to stay
consistent with the other
parts of GMF, and also
with the common GMF
repository. Then we need
to get the current build
back to life on
Eclipse.org to release on
time.
Does someone here
understand the issue with
the build and feels able
to solve it?
Regards,
