Re: [gmf-dev] Release for GMF-Tooling
|
Hi Michael,
That's great! Unfortunately I don't have a clue for the failing tests...
I noticed that there are still some notifications on the gmf-releng mailing list about a failing build (not because of tests, but because of ant issues). I imagine this one is started by a cron and is not well configured. Am I right? Does anyone know how to remove this cron task or fix it?

Hello
I have just built the S201106061901, available for promotion at http://modeling.eclipse.org/modeling/gmp/gmf-tooling/downloads/drops/2.4.0/S201106061901/.
There still are 7 strange test failures, covered by bugzilla #348484.
I have at least checked that the the tested code is generated correctly and same tests are not failing on local runs, so we may reasonably guess that the problems are in the checking code, not in the code being tested.

Hello,
This particular Modeling build is failing due to the misconfiguration. I will try to fix the problem with it.
Hi all,
Although GMF-Tooling missed Indigo, I think we have to provide a
release as soon as possible after Indigo, to deliver a version of
GMF-Tooling which is compliant with the version of GMF-Runtime
shipped with Indigo. The ideal would be that GMF-Tooling releases
the same day as Indigo.
The good thing is that there is no critical/blocking bug remaining.
The bad thing is that we must be able to produce a repository to
deliver GMF Tooling, and it is not yet the case: current Modeling
builder fails (
http://modeling.eclipse.org/modeling/gmp/build/log-viewer.php?project=gmf-tooling&build=2.4.0/I201106020015/
), and Tycho build is still missing the documentation bundles (
https://hudson.eclipse.org/hudson/job/tycho-gmp.gmf.tooling/ ).
I'd really love to see GMF-Tooling built with Tycho for this
release, but I think it is a bit early. Such a move probably
requires some approval in order to stay consistent with the other
parts of GMF, and also with the common GMF repository. Then we need
to get the current build back to life on Eclipse.org to release on
time.
Does someone here understand the issue with the build and feels able
to solve it?
Regards,
