Hello everyone,

I assume most of you have already seen the previous email regarding the dedicated Github organisation for the GEF project. Alois and I talked about it during this week and we'd like to keep both GEF and GEF classic within the same organization, which is also what I wrote as a response in the Gitlab issue [1].

If there are any objects, please let me know. Otherwise both projects will be moved to the "eclipse-gef" organization, probably sometime in December.

Hello,

  The Foundation is working on improving our security and self service options for projects.  To that end we’re going to move projects out of the Eclipse Github organisation and into per project organisations[1]. As Github provides redirects to help simplify these operations, we’re looking to have all moves completed by the end of Q4 2024.

An issue(https://gitlab.eclipse.org/eclipsefdn/helpdesk/-/issues/5171) has been filed to track the work and conversations between the Webmaster team and the project, so please take this opportunity to comment and discuss timing or other concerns.

Want to move sooner rather than later? Please comment on the issue and we’ll do our best to accommodate your timing.

If we don’t hear from the project by the due date of the issue, Webmaster will simply complete the move, and refer unresponsive projects to EMO for a health check.

If you have any questions feel free to ask Webmaster via the above issue.
