Re: [equinox-dev] provisioning incubator work
|
It's recommend to use the latest stable Eclipse 3.3 milestone.
The only problem I had was working with xstream initially, but it's documented in the incubator currently: http://dev.eclipse.org/viewcvs/index.cgi/equinox-incubator/provisioning/org.eclipse.equinox.prov.releng/HOW%20TO%20RUN.txt?revision=1.1&view=markup
Other than that, it's good old fashion beating your workspace into submission until things work :)
Cheers,

Re: [equinox-dev] provisioning incubator work |
Chris, I tried this -- check out the project, then imports the PSF file. I have lots of red flags For example, in DirectorActivator (in org.eclipse.equinox.internal.prov.director), Eclipse can't resolve BundleActivator or BundleContext!
When I import the PSF file, everything seems to download OK, but then ANT bombs out with the following error message:
BUILD FAILED
C:\workspaces\provincubator\org.eclipse.equinox.simpleconfigurator\localbuild.xml:27: Unable to find element: org.eclipse.equinox.simpleconfigurator.
Total time: 1 second
Any idea what's going on? I've tried it several times with no success. It is obvoiusly working for other people... I have the XPD toolkit installed, could that be causing a problem?

[equinox-dev] provisioning incubator work |
I'm taking a look at the provisioning work in the incubator to see how I
could contribute and so downloaded all the plugins in
equinox-incubator/provisioning dir.
I also got the frameworkadmin, frameworkadmin.equinox,
frameworkadmin.examples, but for a reason I can't fathom I'm still
getting compile errors in:
touchpoint.eclipse
touchpoint.natives
Don't know if this is expected or not.. Also these touchpoing plugins
are apparently looking for org.mozilla._javascript_.* classes and I don't
know where to get that plugin.
Also...how do I try running something/test to show the new provisioning
stuff at work?
BTW I've found the use of ECF filetransfer API in artifact.repository
plugin...nice for me to see!
Thanks.
Scott
