Lars,

why do you suggest this for EPP? Quick
Access comes from the Platform, hence it should be added by the Platform.
However, I'm against putting this single useful thing there. Note that
this is the second tip in the Platform's Tips and Tricks document. Therefore,
I would rather put a "Tips and Tricks" entry to the main Welcome
page, which would invoke Help > Tips and Tricks... This opens
a dialog which shows all Tips and Tricks pages that got contributed by
installed bundles.

I regular work with or do training sessions with groups of Eclipse IDE
users. I typically ask new clients, if they are aware of the "Quick
Access" shortcut and functionality. Unfortunately the majority of
them
are not aware of "Quick Access". I have also met several former
Eclipse users, which told me that they prefer IntelliJ over Eclipse
because of that feature. They thought this is not available in
Eclipse. IntelliJ puts this functionality under Main Menu | Search |
Find Action (Ctrl+Shift+A) in IntelliJ

I plan to add our Quick Access also to the Search menu to help Eclipse
users to discover it via
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=491181but maybe you
could promote this shortcut / functionality on your welcome page. IMHO
this functionality is one of our gems in the IDE and deserves
promotion.
