If there are any objections, we would have to consider changing 0.6.1 to
0.7.0, which would make the release process more tedious.

No objections, but it shouldn’t make a difference regarding the release
process. You no longer need to create an IP review for every major /
minor release. It is sufficient to create one once in a year.

Hm, that's interesting. I do remember having read something along those
lines, but I don't remember where. The only thing I was able to find was
Wayne's and Sharon's note that 3rd party libraries don't require deep IP
reviews any more.



Anyway, there is a difference apart from the IP review: as I understand,
0.7.0 would require a release review, while 0.6.1 would not.

By IP review I meant release review. It doesn’t matter whether you schedule it as “release review” or “progress review”.
