Greetings EE4J PMC members and community members.
I'd like to get the project leads together for a short briefing. I've received a few emails that suggest that at least some of them don't understand the process that we're following.
FWIW, I normally work directly with project leads as we bring projects on board, but since Dmitry has been doing all of the heavy lifting, at least some designated project leads aren't engaged in the process.
I'd like to schedule an orientation session for project leads. I don't want to put this off too long; this week seems a little short notice, but I have some time on Thursday/Friday. Alternatively, we can schedule something next week. Timing recommendations welcome.
I can handle the Eclipse Foundation process aspects, but it'd be good to have somebody else from the PMC step up to talk about the relationship between Jakarta EE and EE4J, the milestones, etc.
I'm assembling some slides.
- Define Jakarta EE and EE4J and the difference between the two;
- Define the role of the Jakarta EE Working Group;
- Define the role of the EE4J Top Level Project and Top-Level project;
- Present our two primary milestones;
- Describe the onboarding process at a highlevel (e.g. proposal, creation, initial contribution, code push, release review)
Let me know if you can help, and I'll give you edit access to the document.
FWIW, I'll also schedule that New Committer Orientation session I spoke about a few weeks ago. That slipped off my radar, but I'll put it back.
