I watched Dana’s talk to a Portland Ruby society on Cucumber in October, which is the source of her slides that she uploaded with her proposal. I’d recommend rejecting the talk:
- She’s not the most dynamic speaker.
- There’s no evidence that she’s a Java expert, and the fact that she didn’t mention the eclipse-cucumber tools in her abstract
- She’s not a Ruby testing expert. The questions she received afterwards seemed reasonable, asking about other Ruby-based testing approaches, and she wasn’t really able to handle them. My concern is that she’ll be asked specifics about Java based systems and won’t have an answer.
There were other talks at ECE in previous years that seem more focused and applicable:
