Re: [eclipsecon-na-program-committee] Shortlist proposals

I’d like to propose some changes:

1.      SWT Talk. I propose we drop Welcome to the flatland and replace it with How to keep Eclipse on the bleeding edge in the Linux world   The flatland talks seems to be an experiment/prototype but the Bleeding Edge talk is from the SWT lead.  FWIW, the speaker of the flatland talk will be a talk in the CDT Day.

2.      Jubula talk. I propose we drop Removing Accessibility Obstacles in Your RCP/SWT Application and replace it with Jekyll and Hyde with Jubula   Accessibility is an important topic but it is pretty specialized. I also think having Alex speak at EclipseCon is a good idea. She is consistently rated as a popular speaker.

+1

3.      Too many Modeling talks. My feeling is if you combine the Modeling track and Polarsys Day we have too many Modeling talks.

I think we just can't have too many Modeling sessions! (just kidding :P )

I count at least 3 of the Polarsys talks that could have easily fit into the Modeling track. I would suggest we drop Get dirty with CDO or Building Business UIs with EMF Forms

If it's the consensus that we have too many Modeling sessions and want to drop some, and if the choice is between Get dirty with CDO and Building Business UIs with EMF Forms I'd be for keeping the latter. It seems a little bit more relevant for the average attendee.

For replacement, I would suggest we add a BIRT talk. WE don’t have any BIRT content right now. Writing an Emitter to Unit Test BIRT Reports for CI, or How Not To Shoot Yourself in the Foot with Embedded BIRT Deployments.  Or the Cordova talk Building Apache Cordova applications with Eclipse

I don't know much about Cordova, but having no BIRT talk seems less than optimal to me.

Cheers
