Hi Max et al,
Thanks for the feedback. I agree, it would be great if NA venues used
the same pricing as the German venue for the food so we could have
beverages all day. But it's not affordable in NA (or in France). :-(
Yeah, I guess serving all drinks in individual cans vs just big bottles
as done in Ludwigsburg increases the price significantly ;)
In addition to a printed program handout and the monitors, we had two
sets of printed big daily schedule signs on pin boards, one set
upstairs and one set downstairs. Were these pin boards not located
where you could find them easily, or am I somehow not understanding
what additional schedule information would be useful on site?
So maybe this is specific for Ludwigsburg but it always takes me until
like the 2nd or 3rd day before my mind has a map between room name and
which section of the venue I had to be in to find it, i.e. upper floor,
left side vs lower floor, right side etc. ...and since I simply do not
want nor remember to actually run around with a paper program (sorry, I
like carrying nothing besides my laptop) I always end up scouring for
the map of the venue to see where I have to be....or simply just run
between the various parts of the venue until I find it.
And at eclipsecon ludwigsburg this year I simply could not find this map
easily anywhere except on the monitors.
Especially downstairs I just saw the BOF board and notice board. But no
map.
Also it would be great if the maps posted actually had a sticker or
something saying "You are *here*".
I haven't been at the location EC US 2015 will be but I had similar
issues when in Santa Clara ...I think about year 5 I could remember the
rooms and the floor mapping ;)

Maybe I'm just unlucky but I thoroughly enjoyed having access to
refreshments outside
the normal breaks. Usually in US all refreshments are removed or just
runs out before
I get to them ;)
With respect to talks - I didn't get to see that many but if there
was one thing I missed
was a plan overview to remember where things were at. The monitors
showed it but you had to
wait for cycling through.
If each poster would on its back have a plan overview my life would
have been much easier the first two days ;)

Also, please make sure you invite any speakers at ECE that gave a
great
talk. We certainly don't want a lot of repeat talks but having some
of the
best from ECE at EclipseCon NA is always a good idea.
