Re: [eclipsecon-na-program-committee] great work so far - and a reminder

And if the propose I talk we will see which category they choose. -> And if they propose a talk we will see which category they choose.

Hi,

thanks Sebastian and Martin for the reminder. I did not promise them that their talks will be accepted if they issue them, so all should be good. And if the propose I talk we will see which category they choose.

Best regards, Lars

Hey Lars,

Great that you found additional great speakers, much appreciated!!!

The basic idea was to discuss those invited speakers upfront with the PC, in case this “invited” more or less means that we will accept the talk right away because we invited them. If your invites fall into this category, you should mark them in the submission system with a PC tag and tell the list who you invited - so that we can at least make everybody aware of them.

There isn’t a strict max number of people we can invite, but keep in mind that (in case those “invites” are of this auto-accepted category) we have an extremely limited number of slots per track and that we should keep enough slots open for general submissions.

In case your “invites” are more of the “here is the CfP, maybe you are interested in proposing a talk” style, then you can invite as many people as you want - since we are free to reject those talks as a PC.

What category are your invites in?

Cheers,
-Martin
