Re: [eclipsecon-na-program-committee] call schedule proposal

Martin,

If you have just a call on Nov 24, then I would suggest you plan for 2 hours. It takes a lot of time to make these selections.

What about setting a deadline of initial votes for Nov 19 and then have a phone call on Nov. 20 and Nov 24?

Ian

Subject: [eclipsecon-na-program-committee] call schedule proposal

Hey!

Here is a proposal for the call schedule for the busy weeks after the deadline:

The final deadline is Nov 17 (Mon).

Call on Nov 24 (Mon):
This will be our major call and might take three hours or so. We will go through the list of talks, look at the votes and the talks that would get accepted if we sort by avg. votes, and discuss this list (as Ian mentioned). Please make sure you can make this call. We can’t have that later that week (due to an event on Tuesday and Thanksgiving in the US).

Call on Dec 1 (Mon):
This would be the call for making the final decisions about which talks to accept/reject. We can discuss open topics and the balance of the program.

In addition to that we could have an intro call right after the deadline (a short one) on Nov 18, to get ourselves sorted and aligned for the voting.

I know that there is not much room for moving these calls to other dates, but I hope that everybody can make those two (or three) important calls.

Opinions?

Cheers,
-Martin
