Re: [eclipsecon-na-program-committee] Early bird

I’ll answer above here.

1)      If there is a great tutorial, we could include it. So far the voting doesn’t show that. And, in fact, I think we’re short on tutorials. We’ll need to prod the community to get some more, and better ones submitted.

2)      I believe there are. We have booked a room for a CDT Summit on Tuesday. Check with Anne.

3)      There are actually quite a few that may fit in the ALM track. Are the ALM people on this list? Could they go through a sweep and pick out some they believe should be in the ALM track?

As for the early bird, I’m also thinking of talks that would be great marketing fodder. So I may pull one or two from outside the top 5. But we’ll decide as a group if there are better that I’m missing.

Keep voting throughout the day. I’ll keep watching. I’ll pick the five by 5 p.m. Ottawa time so that everyone gets a chance via e-mails at least to make adjustments.

Doug.

Phew, I came in this morning and thought I had 194 to review. 184 is much better ;)

After reviewing the first 60 I have a few quick questions:

1) I assume the early birds will be standard talks rather than tutorials? I am reviewing them all anyway, but I am guessing because of the scarcity of tutorial talks this year we'll have to be very careful about what we select to ensure good coverage. Did I hear correctly at last call there are only 10 tutorials for EclipseCon (+ 4 for Agile and 2 for OSGiDEV con)? I might have misheard the numbers so please correct me if wrong.

2) Are there any extra rooms available for extra content that doesn't fit into the standard formats? The modeling symposium came to mind as something that could be placed in a separate room parallel to the basic content, if we have the space.

3) This one I feel strongly should be in Agile/ALM Connect. If I don't heard otherwise I will move it later today so it gets the proper review from the Agile/ALM PC:

Hey gang,

Looks like talk 184 just got in under the wire. Let the voting begin J. BTW, amazing to have almost 160 talks at this point. Should be good.
