We eliminated them last year, no? I'm not certain they served any purpose well.

What did cross my mind is that we had the product showcase last year which I thought went really well. Could we do the same for projects, i.e. a Project Showcase, where projects set up tables and people walk around to find out what's going on?

At the end of the day, we can't be afraid of the number of submissions. Cutting is painful, yes. We'll piss people off, yes. But we need to make sure the talks we do select have enough time to be presented properly or the perceived quality of the conference suffers.
