All,
Each year the Eclipse Foundation gives out Community Awards to honour
individuals and technologies that make Eclipse a vibrant community.
Nominations are open to anybody in the community and for the technology awards
categories, finalists and winners are determined by a panel of judges made of
up of Eclipse project leads and Eclipse-oriented editors. Winners are
announced in a ceremony at EclipseCon in March.
The Eclipse Community Awards will be opening soon for nominations and the
Foundation is looking for project leads to participate as judges for the open
source technology awards. As a judge, you will be expected to review all
initial submissions to the 3 open source categories and then do a more detailed
review of nominees that make the shortlist. Typically 3 conference calls
are required that take place during February and the beginning of March.
You can see full details on last year’s Community Awards at http://www.eclipse.org/org/foundation/eclipseawards/index.php.
If you would like to help out by being a judge, please send me an email by December
8.
Cheers,
Lynn Gayowski
