Updates Coming to Committer and Contributor Agreements

The Eclipse Foundation is in the process of updating all of our Committer and Contributor Agreements.  The updates are being made to enable the Foundation to begin hosting open source specification projects. Details about the changes can be found in the recent blog by Mike Milinkovich. Please read that communication carefully, and if you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to communicate with us via license@xxxxxxxxxxx.

This is a significant undertaking, as it requires every contributor and committer agreement to be renewed.  The process of reaching out to all these contributors, committers and member companies will be done over the coming few months and will be driven the Foundation staff. There is no action required by contributors or committers until contacted by staff about updating their agreements.

We thank everyone in advance for supporting this update!

Participate in the 2018 Eclipse Foundation Brand Survey

We are excited to launch the 2018 edition of our brand survey. The survey will run until December 14, 2018. Please let us know what YOU think of the Eclipse Foundation brand and share your ideas for making it represent the Eclipse community better.

Go to http://bit.ly/2AM36Bd to take the survey today!

As well, we'd like to ask for your help to promote the survey through your various social channels. By gaining more feedback, we'll be able to better understand the impact of our new brand strategy and where we can improve.

EclipseCon Europe 2018 Wrap-up

Thanks to all who attended, sponsored, and presented at EclipseCon Europe and Eclipse Community Day! It was a busy and productive week, and (as usual) lots of fun as well.

If you were there, please be sure to take the attendee survey. Speakers, please upload your presentation materials to your submission page; we get lots of requests for these.

Talk recordings are being processed now, and should be on the Eclipse Foundation YouTube channel in one to two weeks. Conference photos are in the Flickr group pool.

Be sure to save the dates for 2019! Community Day will be Monday, October 21, and the conference will be Tuesday through Thursday, October 22 - 24.

Eclipse Foundation Member Presentation

An overview presentation of the Eclipse Foundation is now available for members to use and adapt to speak about the Eclipse community. The presentation includes our strategic direction, key facts, and Working Groups. Members are free to use some or all of the materials included here. The intent is to better enable members to talk about the Foundation, their reasoning for being members, etc.

The presentation is available in the Resources section of https://www.eclipse.org/membership/. It will be updated periodically to ensure you have current information to use.

In the coming months, we hope to be developing and sharing more resources to enable members to share our successes with others.

Please let us know if you find these resources useful, and thank you for helping us to promote the Eclipse community!
