FOUNDATION UPDATES

NOMINATIONS NOW OPEN FOR BOARD ELECTIONS

Nominations are now open for the Eclipse Board of Directors. As a reminder, positions for Committer and Sustaining Member representatives are elected annually. The individuals holding these elected positions play a significant role in the governance of our community. Nominations end January 26, 2018.

Based on the number of strategic members anticipated as of February 1, 2018, there will be two elected Committer Member representatives and two elected Sustaining Member representatives on the Board for 2018-19. Voting begins on February 12, 2018 and ends on March 1, 2018 at 3pm Eastern time.

MEMBER FUNDED INITIATIVES PROGRAM

The Eclipse Foundation is pleased to introduce the Member Funded Initiative Program.  This new program formalizes a service we have been offering over the past while to facilitate initiatives on behalf of member companies and working groups.

The intent is to enable members to fund initiatives that are important to them that, for a variety of reasons, are easier or more effective to fund as a community-based initiative. These initiatives include facilitating directed development initiatives, carrying out marketing campaigns for projects, etc.

FOSS4G NA 2018 REGISTRATION AND SPONSORSHIP

LocationTech would like to invite Eclipse Members to FOSS4G North America 2018 on May 14-16 in St. Louis, MO. As well, there will be a Community Day on May 17. 

This conference will showcase the latest developments in open source geospatial technology, provide hands-on learning opportunities and showcase industry deployments and research.

ECLIPSECON FRANCE 2018 SUBMISSIONS AND SPONSORSHIPS

It's time to plan for EclipseCon France 2018, scheduled for June 13-14 in Toulouse. Submissions open this month, so follow @eclipsecon for the announcement and other conference news.

We encourage our members to sign up soon for sponsorships; booth space is limited, and the best ones go fast.

VIRTUAL ECLIPSE COMMUNITY MEETUPS ARE BACK!

The Virtual Eclipse Community MeetUp "vECM", is dedicated to the discussion and discovery of Eclipse technologies.

Learn first-hand about Eclipse projects, working groups, best practices, hacks and tips n’ tricks for the adoption and usage of Eclipse technologies.

ORGANIZE AN ECLIPSE HACKATHON OR DEMOCAMP

Each year, the Eclipse Foundation invites individuals to organize and attend Eclipse DemoCamps and Hackathons anywhere in the world. Our first DemoCamps of the year run April until August, and our second from November until December.

We are looking for committers and employees of Eclipse member companies, as well as volunteers from the vast Eclipse community, to help organize the events in different locations.
