A version of this talk was presented at ESE. The central tenet is
valuable I think, and the presentation liberally sprinkled with
examples and some humo[u]r that made it non-dull. I'm not so
sure that the tags are quite right, and I think that a compression
from Extended to Standard would be advantageous.
