Re: [eclipse.org-eclipsecon-program-committee] Welcome to the Program Committee

That Wednesday or Friday time works for me. I'd prefer Wednesday, but can re-arrange some things for the Friday time if necessary.
That Thursday time would be hard for me to attend (but, probably could, if last resort).

Also, I do plan to get the WTP PMC to help me "recruit, review, and accept talks",  but see no need for them to attend these meetings, and see my self as their "rep" to the Program Committee, which is how we did it last year ... but ... since I don't really know what these meetings are for :) nor any other changes you are planning, you can include them or not as "optional attendees" if you think it is warranted.

Thanks,

[eclipse.org-eclipsecon-program-committee] Welcome to the Program        Committee

Hello EclipseCon 08 Program Committee!

Thank you for volunteering your time, energy, and expertise to EclipseCon.  The program committee is the driving force behind a well-attended and well-liked conference.

First, I’d like to have a quick meeting to introduce everyone and talk about how the program committee will run this year.  All I need from you is a time to meet.  As this is the single most difficult task we’ll encounter together, let me throw out a few options for voting:

Wed, 15 August, 0900 PDT / 1200 EDT
Thurs, 16 August, 1000 PDT / 1300 EDT
Fri, 17 August, 0800 PDT / 1100 EDT

Second, as you know we have recruited a single lead position for each track who is responsible for the success of their track.   I’d like to offer you the opportunity to add other supporting people to your track to help you recruit, review, and accept talks.  I have some suggestions below, but you as the track lead are free to decide who you want to ask.  Please forward names/emails of folks you’d like added to this mailing list before our first meeting.  Currently only the track leads are on the list.  (Please note that the complementary registration applies only to the track leads.)

Thanks,

Doug Gaff
