howtohandle13proposals on a 4 slot allocation ?..
Great suggestions to the extra slots Rich. +1.
I am going to convert some talks into a panel in the business
track. I.e., there are a couple of IP related talks, and I have buy-in
from the speakers that we create a panel instead, which I think will be better
serving of the attendees.
Just a note - converting a panel to a long talk means giving
away another pass to EclipseCon (panels don't have free passes). Are
the finances OK with converting panels to talks?

We have 3 extra Long Talk slots, which I propose are distributed as indicated
above. Otherwise, I believe we can do some adjustments among the tracks
to better distribute slots where needed, based on need and interest.
Please reply with your changes, donations, or other ideas on how we can create
a balanced program.
Thanks,
Rich

In a similar position in WTP with around 20 submissions for 5

though I have not discussed that with my PMC yet. Beyond that, we will look for
a balance of broad vs narrow, tools vs frameworks, and current vs new
technology.
The only other option might be including an additional room/track to increase
the number of slots available.

If
it's any consolation, I have 15 business submissions for 4 slots, most of which
are quite excellent. I would advise trying hard to get the community to
help you choose.

13proposals on a 4 slot allocation ?..
Folks,
For
the Test&Perf long talk track we have 13 proposals and only 4 slots
allocated.
The
plan is to group all proposals in such a way that there will be one proposal
for the following topics : Test. Trace, Code Analysis, Monitoring
This
simple plan seems to be very hard to execute. It is almost impossible to
squeeze 13 proposals under 4, especially since the presenters represent
different groups. I did an initial attempt to reduce the number by adding a
comment on the eclipsezilla track with the regrouping proposal. The result is
an overflowing set of notes I am receiving from the presenters which clearly
are not too happy with the proposal
Does
anybody have a similar experience and a better approach that can be shared?
Is any
other track having unused sits that can be donated to the Test&Perf section
?
Thank you,
