[eclipse.org-eclipsecon-program-committee] Embedded virtual track

Hi folks,

In preparation for our meeting tonight, I tried to reduce the virtual track selections with the embedded marketing workgroup.  I also asked them to accept 1 of the 3 user track talks as discussed in our last program committee meeting.  Below is the recommendation.

User track:

274       Using Eclipse TPTP to profile and monitor an Embedded System

Developer track:

31         The Eclipse 3.2 Debug Platform: Supporting a community of debuggers

214       Taking it on the road - Developer tools for J2ME (to be switched to a long talk)

174       embedded Rich Client Platform Overview and Update

284       DSDP - technology, roadmap, and getting involved

287       Using and Extending the DSDP Target Management Framework

In the interest of full disclosure, the last 2 picks are my preferred votes as the DSDP PMC.  The embedded marketing workgroup liked these, too, but they wanted to ensure variety in their virtual track, and not just DSDP-related talks.

31 is actually an overview of changes in the Eclipse Debug Platform (similar to the tutorial of the similar topic).  So it really stands on it’s own outside of the virtual track.  It’s only in this list because the changes are enabling for embedded debuggers as well as enterprise debuggers.

They recommend short talks for the other items in their wish list, but this list probably needs to be scrutinized further.

16         Using Eclipse with CDT to ease migration from proprietary RTOS to Embedded Linux

304       Embedded System Design - It's Hardware As Well As Software!

101       Embedded Client testing using the eRCP Test Harness

112       EclipseME: J2ME the Eclipse Way

218       A unique IDE for mobile applications ideas & development

288       Eclipse as a Retargetable IDE for Embedded DSP Development

298       Using Eclipse, Sync4j and MySQL to create custom J2ME applications

330       Challenges and solutions for building an Embedded IDE Platform in the Automotive Industry
