Keynote?
Tim,
Sorry for the delay in getting back to
this.
Not sure if Gene was able to get back to
you, but it does not look like we are going to be able to commit to giving this
presentation.
We are not able to get the presentation
approved at this time.

Subject: EclipseCon 2006 Keynote?
Peter,
I’m writing to you on behalf of the EclipseCon 2006
Program Committee.
Gene Pope mentioned you as a possibility for an Amazon
keynote at EclipseCon 2006. The program committee’s internal goal for
keynote speaker decisions was the end of September, so I need to know shortly
whether you are available for this event.
In addition to confirming your availability, I need both bio
information and some details on the topic (we had talked of “Web
2.0” and tools around same as a possibility) to take back to the Program
Committee in order to continue the speaker selection process.
I have a call with the rest of the program committee on
Friday, so any information you can provide would be very helpful. If we cannot
confirm Amazon’s participation by early next week, I will need to extend
my regrets and advise the committee to move on to another candidate.
Many thanks,
Tim
