I am a big fan of Gerrit as well and
fortunately all open source projects can use
http://gerrithub.io/
for their projects. That's basically a Gerrit interface for GitHub
repos. I would recommend at least taking a look at it.

Isnt one of the key advantages of Github vs Eclipse that
you can fork a repo in the first place and then produce a
commit and a pull request. In Eclipse you can only keep
private copies of the Git repo on your local machine/private
repo but no public copies at Eclipse….

Any Eclipse community member can push a commit publicly to Gerrit,
and anyone can retrieve this commit. For private work, one can use
      Gerrit drafts.
