|
In this issue:
1. Move your old builds to archive.eclipse.org!
2. ...and then there was one.
3. mirrors.xml for Update Sites
4. Mail and news archives now run more often
5. Bugzilla sample queries, brought to you by EMF
6. Committer Tools is Open Source, you know!
7. One million downloads? Almost there!
1. Move your old builds to archive.eclipse.org!
In an effort to reduce the download.eclipse.org footprint, the platform
releng team requested the creation of an Archives site. Moving old
builds to the archives site makes our mirror sites happy by using less
of their disk space and less bandwidth for initial synchronization.
Simply move files to /home/data/httpd/archive.eclipse.org. The
directory structure is identical to download.eclipse.org.
Link to http://archive.eclipse.org/toplevel/yourProject/yourFile.zip.
You obviously lose the download stats tracking that the Find A Mirror
script provides, but this area is for archived, older files that
normally don't get much traffic.
Thanks to Kim and Sonia for testing this out.
2. ...and then there was one.
Sujay left the Foundation on July 25, so I'm back to being the Lone
Ranger behind the WebMaster inbox. There is a backlog of requests, and
I'm hoping to clear those in the next 48 hours. We're currently
interviewing potential candidates for his replacement.
3. mirrors.xml for Update Sites
I have added some useful documentation in the Committer Tools section,
such as How to use the Find A Mirror script to generate the mirrors.xml
file. Log in to the Committer Tools at
https://dev.eclipse.org/committers/ with your usual CVS username/password.
Thanks to Rich "I'm good at finding "only one problem" kind of things!"
Kulp and Sylvain "Hey the Find A Mirror script has hidden features!"
Wallez for helping me with this.
4. Mail and news archives now run more often
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=101743 is now closed. With
the new hardware all in place, we had some spare cycles to generate news
and mail archives every hour instead of every day.
5. Bugzilla sample queries, brought to you by EMF
The EMF team has put together a simple query box to query bugzilla, as
well as some sample queries at the bottom of the page. Check it out here:
http://eclipse.org/emf/plan/query.php
Thanks to Nick "Free code with purchase of small fries" Boldt for this.
6. Committer Tools is Open Source, you know!
Found a bug in the Committer Tools? Send me a patch!
CVS host: dev.eclipse.org
repository: /home/cvs/org.eclipse
project: dev/committers
method: pserver
7. One million downloads? Almost there!
This is self-explanatory. Go ahead and download Eclipse one more time -
for charity!
