It does, and I've been using that so far, but this has some issues:

(1) it doesn't work for all since not everyone has a calendaring system.
(2) You may accept the invitation but then be unable to join. How to track?
(3) Changing a Calendar Entry / Invitation - especially for the "recurring
    invitation" - may create duplicate entries with the attendees. They decline
    one but accept the other. What does that mean?

Also, I've been manually collecting responses but would be looking for
automatic aggregation. That's why I've been looking at Google Calendar
invitations for each individual. But since there are concerns with sharing too
much with Google, I'd like to investigate other options.

That's why I'm now more leaning towards after-the-fact tracking with a simpler
system that should work for all.
