As discussed in this week's architecture
call, the Eclipse PMC has settled on a process for how to delete API from
Eclipse project plugins. This is not a step to be taken lightly, but we
felt for the long term success of the platform we needed some mechanism
through which we can over time weed out bad, misleading, or redundant API.
Part of this process involves documenting pending API deletions in the
migration guide, which is why it is important to give thought to this before
the Helios release is out. You can refer to the following documents for
more details, or feel free to ping your neighbourhood PMC member if you
have more questions about it.
