I have tried to upgrade HIPP some months ago already ending up with a dead HIPP instance which had to be resetted by the admins. They did not find out what went wrong so I am a bit hesitating in trying to upgrade again. I need those EASE builds to be available this week. Will try next week to upgrade HIPP if that is fine for you

Of course there is a little quagmire going on as a couple of the plug-ins are already at 1.8: org.eclipse.ease.lang._javascript_.nashorn and org.eclipse.ease.modules.jvm
So EASE really has a minimum requirement of 1.8 unless you want to explain it somewhere which plug-ins are 1.8 and which aren't.

Just keep in mind: raising dependencies should be for a reason. If its just a single switch(String) statement, it might not be worth it. But I guess thats clear anyway.
