[ease-dev] Ease Eclipse dependencies

Just read the news that Eclipse Neon will require Java 8:

This raises for me the question on minimum requirements regarding EASE.
Currently we depend on Java 1.6 and Eclipse 3.7 - at least for the core 
framework. Some modeling extension modules already depend on mars.

Personally I would love to move on to Eclipse 4.x. This would allow to 
use dependency injection, the event broker and some other newer concepts.
Also java 1.8 would be interesting for its new features.

So this is a call to all users out there following this group:

What would be your minimum requirements for running EASE?
