Thanks Der-Ping.  I have looked around on these sites but have trouble getting started.  DTP seems to be working OK but I can’t find anything on getting started with UML modeling.  Should I be using the Database Development perspective?  Here’s all I can find in the help facility about Model Base:

 

Model Base

The Model Base project provides the foundation for database development using the data tools platform (DTP).

The Model Base project uses best practices, like model-driven development with UML, and the Eclipse Modeling Framework (EMF). The Model Base project includes the following components.

·         Database definition model

·         Edit model

·         SQL model

·         SQL Query model

·         SQL XML Query model

The Model Base project provides the following key benefits and features.

·         Change management support – Models can be version controlled through Eclipse team support.

·         Editing support – Visual model editing and other kinds of model editing are integrated with the EMF and EMF model generation.

·         JavaDocs – Models are published with documentation to support DTP users.

·         Extensibility – Models are extensible and not contingent on any particular database management system.

·         Standards-compliant – Models comply with standards such as SQL and JDBC connectivity.

·         Samples – Sample code and plug-ins demonstrate model use.

Yes, the model base is still very 'alive' but stable.

Hi,
 
Can anyone help with info on the model base project?  Is it still active?  There isn’t much in the dpt-model-dev archive.  I tried to figure out how to use it in the latest DPT download but can’t find any docs or hints.
